The tiny red bugs in your windows are probably clover mites.

These little red bugs gain access to your home by crawling up the side of a structure from the ground. They enter through cracks and tiny openings around windows and doors. Inside of your house, you would likely find them crawling near window sills, curtains, drapes, furniture, or directly on windows. The tiny red bugs will leave behind a bright red stain when smashed. This stain is not blood however but rather the mite's body pigment.

Clover mites are not dangerous but they can easily become a nuisance pest and are difficult to eradicate. Due to their very small size, they can invade a home in great numbers and get through the smallest openings. They are also resistant to common forms of pest control used to eradicate other insects.
