Identification:

Bed bugs are small and resemble an apple seed shape. Adult bed bugs are about 3/16 of an inch long. They are amber to reddish brown in color, depending on when they have had their most recent meal.
Bed Bug Bite: Itchy red bites with the appearance of flat, red welts in small clusters, zigzag lines or straight rows is a key sign of bed bugs. Their bites are irritating and scratching them can lead to bleeding and infection. There are some people that do not have a skin reaction to the bites.

Habitat:

If there are enough bed bugs in one area, they can emit a distinct odor and has been described as "sweet" or "musty". Bed bugs can be found in many areas not just on the bed, such as corners of the mattress, edges of the carpet, anything upholstered like chairs and curtains, head board and inside drawers of dressers and nightstands. They can even travel to other rooms through the electrical outlets.
